Once there was a man who wanted to meet Taneemtayo, so he went to the priest and asked how he could do so. The priest said, “Since Taneemtayo is the god of paths, you must walk all the paths of your life, and then you will meet Taneemtayo.”
So the man went and walked all the paths of his life and then he met Taneemtayo.
Once there was a woman who wanted to meet Mertiya, so she went to the priest and asked how she could do so. The priest said, “You must walk all the paths of your life twice, and then you will meet Mertiya.”
“I don’t understand,” said the woman. “Isn’t Taneemtayo the god of paths? How will walking the paths of my life twice help me meet the goddess of stories?”
“Ah,” said the priest. “When you have walked the paths of your life twice, they will become a twice-told tale.”
